The KodaPendant: 1,629 Kodas with a visible edge

Most Koda traits are easiest to identify by looking at the metadata or artwork. The KodaPendant is different: pendant Kodas produce a visible trail effect in Otherside, giving the trait an immediate visual presence that most Koda scarcity does not have. Exactly 1,629 of the 10,000 Kodas carry one — 16.29% of the collection, roughly one in six.

What a KodaPendant is

The pendant is represented as a distinct property in the Koda data and appears visually as a trail that follows the Koda. That makes it easy to recognize — but it also makes it easy for marketplace descriptions to turn "visible" into "valuable." Those are different claims. Mr. Deeds treats pendant status as a fact: this Koda has one, this Koda does not, and exactly 1,629 exist — verifiable value-by-value in the Koda browser. What collectors choose to pay for the distinction is a market question.

All 1,629 are already tradable

This is where pendant supply gets particularly interesting. As of the latest sync, 1,683 Kodas remain locked inside original Otherdeeds (how that works). Not one of them has a KodaPendant. The entire pendant population is already outside the deeds and in standalone supply — there is no hidden pool of pendant Kodas waiting to be released through future migrations.

Compare that with Mega Kodas: 11 Megas are still locked, so the standalone Mega population can increase as those deeds migrate. Pendant supply does not have that overhang. The set is complete — nothing new can enter it, ever.

Pendants can stack with other scarce traits

Pendant status exists independently of the normal Head, Eyes, Core, Weapon, Clothing and Ability traits, which creates some interesting intersections — all countable directly. 30 of the 99 Mega Kodas have a pendant. Regular Kodas can also combine pendants with Mega-associated traits: 299 carry a pendant with two or more, and just 23 combine a pendant with all three.

This is where Koda rarity becomes more interesting than simply sorting one trait from rarest to most common. A Koda may sit at the intersection of several independently scarce characteristics. That makes the combination rare. It does not automatically make it desirable or valuable.

Does a pendant command a premium?

Measurably, yes. The pendant premium has held in every one of the 14 months on record, and it is one of only two single traits the Koda model estimate prices on individual Kodas — the other is carrying a Weapon, alongside the 2–3 shared-Mega-trait rungs. The Koda market page still shows the raw evidence — recorded pendant prints, observed medians, and sample sizes — because Koda trading is thin: a median based on five sales should not be treated with the same confidence as a median based on fifty, and the receipts outrank the model whenever they disagree.

How to verify a KodaPendant

Pendant status is directly checkable. Look up the Koda and its page will identify whether the pendant is present — along with everything around it: Mega or regular, individual trait values and carrier counts, Mega-associated traits, current locked status, and recorded market activity. If you're looking specifically for pendant Kodas, the Koda browser can isolate them, and the free Koda alert can watch for new listings that match the trait plus a max price. The important part is that you never have to take a listing's description at face value.
