Otherdeed vs. Otherdeed Expanded: why there are two collections
Search "Otherdeed" on any marketplace and you'll find two collections: the original Otherdeed for Otherside and Otherdeed Expanded. They do not represent separate maps — same world, same plot numbers, same 100,000 total, and every individual plot lives in exactly one of the two at a time. Here's why, and what the difference actually means when you're looking at a listing.
The split: April 2023
When Otherside launched in 2022, some deeds came with extras fused into them — most famously the Kodas, the 10,000 native creatures that lived on one deed in ten. In April 2023, Yuga opened the "Koda decoupling and Vessel claim": you could burn your original Otherdeed and receive an Otherdeed Expanded for the same plot, with the same terrain traits — plus, if your deed had a Koda, the Koda came out as its own separate NFT you could hold or sell independently. Per Yuga's announcement, deeds that went through the burn had the Koda Origins obelisk piece added to the new deed's metadata. The event opened on April 5, 2023 and never closed — deeds are still crossing over today, and the crossing is one-way.
What carries over
The land does not become a new plot when it moves to Expanded. The plot number, environment, Environment Tier, sediment, resource deposits and artifact all carry across unchanged. The collection wrapper changes; the land identity underneath it does not.

So the honest summary: an Expanded deed is the land by itself, and an OG deed is the land plus whatever is still fused to it. Most original deeds today are simply plots whose owners never crossed — "OG" by itself is not enough information. The question that matters is: what is still fused to it? The 1,683 OG deeds that still carry a Koda are the interesting case — two assets in one wrapper, with the option to split still open.
Wrapper and value are different questions
A recurring mistake is to assume every original deed deserves a premium simply because it's original. The market may distinguish between wrappers, but the land traits still matter: an ordinary OG deed and an OG deed carrying a valuable Koda are not the same economic object, and an Expanded deed can hold extraordinarily scarce land traits even though its Koda — if there ever was one — is long gone. And compound rarity still applies on top of the wrapper: a Koda on a plain deed is unusual; a Koda plus a one-of-one artifact plus four deposits (#7906, above) is something else entirely.
What to check on a listing
Three practical things. First, confirm which collection the listing belongs to. A given plot number is live in exactly one collection at a time; once an original deed is burned, its Expanded token represents that same plot. Second, on an OG deed, whether the Koda is still there — a Koda that was decoupled is long gone from that deed, and the deed doesn't get a discount sticker saying so. A real still-fused Koda appears in the deed's metadata with its specific Koda number, and it's drawn on the artwork. Third, the obelisk piece — "Koda Origins" records the burn crossing per Yuga's official materials; it isn't a Koda. (Otherdeed metadata is dynamic by design, so treat history traits as living data, not fixed stamps.)
Every deed page on this site states the collection plainly and shows the Koda as a trait when — and only when — it's actually still attached. The two collections' plot numbers never overlap, so plot #N is exactly one deed here: mrdeeds.xyz/deeds/530 is the OG #530, because that's where that plot lives today.
